When the Haskin family seeks refuge from Y2K hysteria in the isolated forests of the Sierra Diablos mountains, madness and terror find them there. Abducted by a vicious hillbilly clan, the Haskins fight for survival, but neither they nor the hillbilly Crawfords can comprehend the monstrous nightmare about to erupt from the bowels of the earth.
"THE MILLENNIUM BUG plays out like a love song to all of the horror films we all grew up watching. There's a dash of GODZILLA, a sprinkle of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and hell, even a bit of JURASSIC PARK mixed in." - AintItCool News
“...a seriously gory flick that answers the age-old question of what would happen if Godzilla rampaged through a Rob Zombie movie.” - io9.com
“...lots of monster movie fun...Definitely a movie you can watch over and over again...” - Geek Tyrant
“A great little gem...made with such passion and love that you can’t help but like it.” - Bloody Disgusting
“...offers a little bit of everything for almost every horror fan...plenty of gore, comedy and under-aged chicks in their underwear.” - Horror Yearbook
“...any monster movie fan’s breath of fresh air...I’d put it up against any studio monster movie, period! Godzilla, meet The Millennium Bug...I want a sequel!” - Alien Bee
What do you get when you mash up a hillbilly horror flick, a giant kaiju monster, practical effects and a really wicked fun sense of humour? Well, you get one of the highlights of this years festival that is what. THE MILLENNIUM BUG is a wonderful example of what can be done with practical effects and a love of films. By not relying on CGI, Kenneth and James Cran are able to do something that many other modern campy horror films fail to do. They are able to create a modern version of an 80s horror film that feels like a true homage to films such as the EVIL DEAD series, the original THE HILLS HAVE EYES yet also bring in a classic Godzilla feeling to the movie. If you love classic camp horror you need to check this one out, you will definitely not be dissappointed.
Do you want to get yourself in the mood for THE MILLENNIUM BUG then we recommend checking out
